Please explain a little more, I'm very curious! Is it because the cotton fibers come off on to the bristles?

Mine has the faintest scratchy noise too, but it's so suble and it's never spooked a deer when I drew yet. I think it's just the texture of the arrow though. They tend to be a little course compared to an aluminum which is smooth.

Hello,
I am new to this forum but hope to frequent here a bit. I have not used a bow for a number of years but have been researching them. Think I'll wait for the 2007 models to come out.. Anyway back to this thread, have any of you heard of the "Air Rest" perhaps this would be an alternative to the noise the rest makes.. http://www.air-rest.com/home.htm Check out the video on that page, pretty interesting.. On a side note no matter what type of fletching you use there is no downside.. At least that is what is claimed...

Ok this is what I do and it works and no worries of scent either. Use Armoral, you know the stuff you put on your car. Put it on your carbons it works great and if you use vanes put it on them to. I do this every night before I go out to hunt. You don't have to do it that often but I that is what I do. It leaves the arrow slippery no worries about the animal you are shooting because it is nontoxic. Also when it dries no smell. I picked up about 2 fps on my bow by doing this. I have heard of people using similar products but I use the regular orginal armoral.

That is the best thing you can do. Try them all out and see what you like and what works for you the best. I have also heard of people using string wax on there arrows but I personally never tried that. Good luck to ya this season.

They work better with smooth black carbon arrows . Make sure the hole diameter is large enough and the rest is mounted square .
I have never had a problem with this rest making noise ,and never had a deer spook from any noise while drawing back .

Someone shouldmake a sticky on this topic.
WB = very popular rest... just know that they can make some noise...
Something to that effect.

With the new camo carbon arrows they seem to have a rougher finish than the black ones.
