Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area will be hosting it's 2nd annual JIG IT ICE FISHING EXTRAVAGANZA Saturday, February 24th 2007. Fishing takes place on Little Bay de Noc, south of Gladstone between noon and 3pm. Top prize is $5000 cash. More than $25,000 in prizes. Registration fee before 2/1/07 is $25 per hole, $30 per hole after 2/1/07. Could some one help with the dates of the Panfish Tourny over in the Irsh Hills area in early January, that has a pretty good prize package I think. Give it up.

Once again on Feb 24 from 9am - 2pm I will be chairing the higgins lake winterfest fishing derby over $1500.00 (maybe more) we had $2000 last year in prizes. Hopefully we have ice Its been unseasonably warm I am sure you are all aware. If anyone has any suggestions on anything different I should try with the derby let me know, It was very succesful last year I want to keep it that way.

Just an update. We are making ice, locked in now and lots of cold predicted for the next month. Also, we just increased the top prize to $7,000 for the first time this year! :SHOCKED:

My uncle runs a ice fishing tournament every year in baldwin. Its usually in the first week of febuary. Depending on ice conditions. its an all species style w/ one lake chosen!!! Will update when details are given.

We just released the tagged pike with the undersheriff as witness! :fish: There was atleast 6 inches of ice all over the lake and 10+ inches in some spots. Should be a great time this Saturday.

Saturday Feb 24th. Just a reminder I will start measuring fish At 9am Last chance is 2pm prizes and afterglow party will be at the silverdollar located north of the DNR boat launch. I will be measuring at the west DNR boat launch. We have more prizes than last year over $2000.00. Hope to see you all there. All you need is a winterfest badge $5 which you can pick up at many shops around the lake which you will also find the rules and regulations. If you have any further questions call 989-821-4646 and ask for Erick I will also have badges at the table with me in case the shops run out.
