Just wondering if hunting the Shiawassee Flats by walking in is worth it? I know they have walk-in areas but I have never tried them. I have always in the past went with my brother and his canoe but he got rid of the canoe.
Just curious if I should even drive up or pond hunt locally.
Thanks

The walk in area are worth it.
Hunting can be just as good as any other area there. It depends on the crops and cover.
It sounds like some of the areas are going to be good and some had trouble with crops this year.
You didn't say,but the opener is by drawing only,so if you didn't get picked you're out of it this weekend(like me:bloos: )

Thanks for the info. No, I normally wait until after the first week to even try to hunt up there. And for that matter just during the week when I can get away from work.

North and south Prior are fairly easy walks. Get your something like a jet sled for ice fishing to float your dekes in and you should be all set.
