I used to like the Buck knives the most, but now that I have a few gerber gators they seem to hold an edge better. The nonfolding gator with a gut hook is my favorite. The folding ones are good, but harder to clean.

Well I would have to say it is the knife my brother got me for christmas when I was like 15. Just started deer hunting at the time and it is probley one the best gifts my brother has ever given me. It keeps and very well and being that is it stainless steel don't have to worry to much on rusting.

Now if you are talking brand I like Bucks, or Marble.

Grampa was an tool and die guy so I use his home made knife when it's special "family" occasion. I think he made back in the 50's...

I have a buck skinner that I like to use too.

Gerber LST Jr. Most the knives I see guys use are over-kill, imo. All I need is 2.75" of blade to get the job done. I have a ton of knives, Buck, Schrade, Kershaw, Camillus etc. They're all good knives, but the Gerber keeps and edge longer and is about half the weight of all the others, only 3.2 Oz

I carried an LST Jr. for years. Dressed my sons first turkey with it. I still have it in the collection but have gone to a Benchmade with a pocket clip. That Gerber served me well for about 7 years.

My current favorite hunting knife, like Rustyaxe, is a Rapid River Skinner. Same basic blade and guard as his but with the laminate wood handle. I think theres a pic in my gallery.

It replaced my Bark River as my primary field knife and bumped the Barkie to camp chores. The RR has a secondary bevel that holds an edge a bit longer than the full convex of the BR. Both are great knives but the RR has a slight edge over the other.

I have several favorites:

Pocket knife is a buck titanium

Sheath knife is a small stag handle bowie style Hoffritz

That may change when I put my new Rapid River Knife Works Skinner to the test this season. It looks and feels great but I've yet to get it bloody. :)

Here's my favorite.
It's a knife I made from a file last year. Osage handle, brass pins, with slices of black locust and red oak in the center. I put a nice polish on the blade. Those are my fingers showing on the steel.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to use this Rapid River CHUB with cocobolo handle. A sweet little knife with a great edge on it.

Got a Cutco 2 years ago. Cuts like a razor blade. Free sharpening for life if ever needed and they come to your house to do it. Cuts through a pelvic bone like butter.

Marble's Plainsman for big game.

Gerber LST JR. for ducks and small game.

And a Kershaw Ken Onion Scallion for everday use. Easiest one hand operated knife I know. Keeps an edge and is very lightweight.

I bought a Cutco hunting knife a couple of years ago and it has been great. Cuts like butter. Very sharp. It has a D shaped serration. I have used a couple others but this is my favorite so far. Keep your fingers out of its way.

Yes free sharpening at my home which I have not tried yet.

I have alot of knives, gerber, buck, kershaw, and a sweet little browning knoife my wife got me for x-mas last year. But my favorite is an old case that was given to me by the great old man who got me into hunting, who has since passed. Not a year goes by that it doesn't travel to deer camp with me. The really cool thing about it is, he scratched a slash into the sheath every deer he took, I still do it to this day. Let's just say there's alot of mark's on that old thing.:)
