Went out for a good chunk of the day and it was slow. The wind was whipping up pretty good in the afternoon and I could not get on any pattern for pike or bass. Panfish weren't on the bite either. The high point came at the end of the night when a buddy was in the area and wanted to make a few casts. I swung by my place and picked him up and we shot over to a usually productive flat.
I was whipping a chartreuse spinner bait and right next to the boat something smashes it, of course I figured it was a pike. I was wrong, it was a 27" walleye-the second biggest I have ever caught out of the lake.
