I just purchased an ameristep outhouse blind and when I set it up in my living room it seems a little too small to draw a bow without hitting the walls.:( Has anyone ever used one for bowhunting? Does it get bigger (stretched out) when it is staked? If I can't use it I may have to go to tree stand. Wanted the ground blind for mobility.

I bought an outhouse blind about 5 years ago. Too small for bow. I used it for muzzleloader hunting.

The outhouse blind is not ment for bow hunting. You are right it is to small to pull your bow back in. I would return and invest in the doghouse or brickhouse. Cabela's markets one that is made for bow hunters and it is under $100.

Good Luck,

You willhave to move up to the doghouse to be able to shoot a bow and even that one is a littel tight. You can usually start finding them on sale about this time for about $60, just keep an eye out. I know that I saw them for that price in Dunham about 2 weeks ago.

I have an outhouse blind and have used it for shotgun in ohio and squeriel hunting. Next week I am going to try it for bow, but I found you have to have the back open a bit to pull back on your bow. Have to make it work, due to hunting on a college budget.:)

In order to pull back your bow in that blind you gotta stick the tip of the arrow out the window... of course this means removing the mesh shoot throughs... then you'll have enough room to draw. Be careful you don't scrape the inside of the blind with your broadhead, that noise scares the critters.

Thanks, I went this morning and exchanged it for a doghouse. Dunham's had it for $60. Hopefully, it will work out. BTW, anyone ever shoot through the mesh? I think there was a thread on this somewhere, but couldn't find it. Thanks.
