Anybody know the diameter of the Beman ICS Hunter 400's. I cant find this info on the website.

I think I'm switching from my GT XT's (nearly out and can't find any in stock locally).

I wan't to switch to an arrow that closely matches the XT specs for diameter and grains per inch and has a smoother finish for use with my WB rest.

My 5575's are 8.2 grains per inch and .295 diameter

Maxima Hunter 250's are 8.0 g/in and .295 diameter

Beman ICS 400's are 8.4 g/in and ???? diameter

Any other thoughts or recommendations appreciated.

No idea...but go with the Maximas. .2 grains...you're looking at maybe a 2 grain difference total from your current arrows finished to the maximas when finished. Why? You gotta remember that the Maximas are equiped with the bulldog nock collar. Though a 5.6grain difference over the arrow shaft, you gotta add the bulldog nock collar into account because it weighs about 5 grains itself.

Looks like you found a winner.

On the other thread. Unfortunately since I no longer work in Auburn Hills, and live here in Saginaw, It would make for a bit of a hike.

I bought my last 6 GT's there about this time last year.

Ninja,

I'm going to shoot some Maximas this weekend. If I don't like them I'll give you a call on the GT's

Doc,

I mispoke in my earlier post. I'm just looking at the Maxima 250's not the 250 Hunters I listed. So the spec is actually 7.3g/in and the diameter runs about .006 smaller than the GT (should not be an issue with the WB).

Rough calculations tell me that I'm going to go from my current 365g arrow to about 343g. (6.92g per lb of draw to 5.91g per lb of draw) and FOC will change from 10.7 to 11.6. All based on my current 28" arrow and 58lb draw weight.

Is 5.91g per lb of draw acceptable or getting to the low range.

I'll look at the Maxima Hunter but I don't know anything about the weight forward thing they have going on.

5.91 is very acceptable.

I think that 5.91 is acceptable but be warned that your bow will be louder and more likely to have limb issues. I believe for hunting with a WB the best arrow you could shoot is a Axis by Easton.

At 58lbs he could shoot at 5grains/lb for his entire life and never have limb issues. 5.91 is considered a very heavy arrow by todays standards.
