A question about "Where to buy Drake's" in another thread got me wondering which way anglers prefer to use the it on their fish. As a wet or dry batter?

Can't beat Drakes right out of the box. But then again, it makes a mean beer batter...ohhh, I can't decide!
Ok, maybe this: fish - dry, onion rings - beer batter

I voted for dry but only use Zatarins, seems to stick better on the fish or whatever you are breading. Price is right too, Sams has the large - 5lb? or 1 gallon jug for around 5 bucks...........HEY MIKEY, try it you'll like it!!!!! :D Al:chillin:

A month or so back we had a big fish fry at the house and with all that oil I wanted to make sure I used it to it's extent so, I made an few awesome blosom using Drakes.
Cut the top of the onion off and peel. Then cut down from the top just to the start of the root so it stays together. Keep cutting to make the petals. Then soak it in water for a 1/2 hour or so. (you can kind of help the petals open) When your ready to make it, put the onion in milk then coat with Drakes, then milk then Drakes again to build up a little thickness. Fry in 350 oil till done till brown and crispy.
I found this dipping sauce on-line to make it genuine....
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons ketchup
1/2 teaspoon mccormick seasoning salt
1/8 teaspoon red peppers
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh horseradish
1/4 teaspoon paprika
They were gone in minutes...:D

Couldn't vote.
Another 50/50 here. Depends on what I'm cooking. Usually fish is dry and onion rings, mushrooms, zuchini, etc. is beer batter.
