hey all,
finally got a chance to get out after some geese. been busy, havent had time to scout or anything.:( ....despite that, dad and i headed out to the bay shore to try and get a goose or two. we saw lots of geese flying, but really high. someone sure has smartend em up in the first few days of season.:dizzy: ...to make a long story short, we had a group of 4 come into the dekes and we dropped two. when i went out and picked em up the one i got had a band.:D :D :D i was stoked. first bird of the year on the first trip of the year had some bling bling...just delightful :coolgleam ...those 4 birds were the highlight for the night. we saw several other flocks in the distance as well as hundreds sitting on the sandbar a half mile out. they were still there when legal shooting hours ended. id imagine theyll hit the fields after dark with the big ole moon that was coming up....ill post some pics up tomorrow.;)
oh yeah, there are tons of ducks out there too. i wish it was duck season, we could of killed a couple limits in no time. we constantly had ducks in the dekes. quite a variety too. we saw several species ranging from mallards to GW and BW teal, widgeon, woodies, and pintails. come on october!!:dizzy:
we didnt lay the smack down on em but it was a great evening spent in the marsh with my dad...we saw allot of birds, got to BS, and we even got a pair of geese...couldnt get any better.;) :)
