OK I shoot a bow tec, I hear all this crap about bow tecs limbs splitting. Well my hunting partners 1 month old bow tec allegeance split .We were practicing last night and he pulled it back and crrrrraaaaaccccccckkkkkk!!!
Well we go to ----- where he bought it in clio.Well they say that they have seen so many do this, that they talked to bow tec about it. Well on the top limb a peice about 5 inches long pretty much lifted off and is sticking out, right on the edge like something shaved it.Enough that it could probably stick you.It looks like fiber glass sticking out.Well they (at -----) glued it down and taped it down and said us it for hunting season and we will order some limbs for ya!!!! Am I crazy or is my buddy gonna get hurt? or does this sound like its ok ?

Do not shoot that bow!!!! Find another shop, or call Bowtech direct. They will take care of you. But do not shoot that bow until it is fixed. Someone could get seriously hurt!

Who the F*** told you it's good for hunting season? They oughta be shot. That bow is DANGEROUS...and that shop employee or owner or whatever just became liable if anything were to happen to your friend. Tell him to get on the horn and get those limbs ASAP!!!!

very unprofessional and liable. I would also contact the OWNER of the shop as well and inform them of what has hapened
Hopefully they will be happy to know the employee may have placed them in a very expensive predicament my doin that. DO NOT SHOOT ANY BOW WITH MANUFACTURE DEFECTS OR DAMAGE!
Be glad you spotted it when you did and he didn't enter the freezing temp woods only to have that thing explode on him. Another reason for safety harness as well. What if he had it split and knock kim out.

Sounds like someone is trying to get out of paying a warranty claim and give you a new bow - that's BS in my not so humble opinion - I wouldn't accept that. Period.

Thats crazy that they would expect you to experiment with their make-shift fix. Just my opion but I'd be right back there demanding a new bow. No way I would chance a fore sure accident waiting to happen out in the feild.

Theres only one bowtech in the FLint area and it aint in Clio. So I dont know where you bought it, but if it was new, I would be taking it back in there. The bowtech dealer in north Flint is pretty good, I saw them take a set of limbs of a new diamond bow and put them on a bow a guy brought in. Believe me I looked at the limbs it was no crack it was just an imperfection, they still replaced them for the guy.

Tell him to contact his lawyer and get him on call, sounds like there might need to be some paper work filed if he shoots that thing.

Hicks, well its on clio rd and 475 if you call information they call it clio, looks like flint to me.The bow is brand new allegeance 70 lb. When he bought it the bow was only getting 66 lbs so hicks twisted the string to get it to 70.That sound like a good deal or what.I have been using them for years not bashing them!!!

Call Bowtec And Tell Them About That Idiot Before He Gets Someone ****killed****! I Have Seen What Happens When A Cable Breaks And It Ain't Pretty, It Opened Up This Guys Face To The Bone And He Damn Near Bleed To Death Before He Got To The Hospital, And That Was Around Friends Who Helped Him To That Hospital. If That Bow Is Shot Again, I Hope ****god**** Is Watching Over Him!

Scenerio a Pope and Young buck comes in perfect and hunter draws back and hears cccrrraaaaaacccckkkk. Guess where buck goes too and the make shift fix bow too. I think the tech and a buyer was on cccrrraaaaaacccckkkk to even not consider new bow or new replacement parts in exchange for a 1 month old bow that falls under warrenty. Call Manufacturer and let them know about the dealer that is ruining their brand name.

I cant believe those guys would do that. I go in there all the time and they are good folks. They have some seasonal help in there now, it might have been one of those guys. I would not have left the store with that bow. Is it an 05 or 06? I have a set of new 05 limbs here. He can have them and give me the replacement limsb when they come in.

Ya but what the eff? Sounds to me like someone should never be behind that counter again. If you don't know not to glue cracked limbs you shouldn't be touching peoples bows in an effort to "fix" them. Was it a kid?
Hopefully theres a good explanation. :)
i had the cable on my bow break, i was lucky it was winter and i had a winter coat on, saved me from a big scar on my chest, ruined my coat. GET RID OFF IT! it's not worth getting hurt!
chicks dig scars though
i'd make them give me my money back and go to a different shop

Wow. Never heard of the duct tape/elmers glue fix on a bow.
I agree with everybody, way too dangerous to use. I would give it to your shop and tell them to give you something else.
Use it for hunting season...........:yikes:

Bowtech should make it right ASAP. If they don't please let us all know.
FYI-A few years ago I chipped a limb on my PSE Carrera (my fault 100% I dorked it off one of my steps while hoisting it) one year. I took it to Jays and asked them if they thought it was ok to use. They said probably, but why chance it, I left it with them, PSE shipped them 2 new limbs, and a week later I picked it up ready to go, all free of charge. PSE even authorized them to set me up with a "loaner" bow if I wanted.

I know some of the guys at Hicks pretty well. According to them
Bowtech originally told the employee that the bow was ok to shoot until
the new limbs came in. Lets not throw stones!!!!!!!

Somebody's trying to perform CYA if you ask me. No way would a Bowtech employee say that IMO. I'd probably go back to the college kids are still there idea.
Glad you're back in the game though!:chillin:

I agree I cannot see Bow-Tech saying this on the limbs. The legal department would come on glued if this were true. I believe it is the dealer like stated CYA. Either way Even if Bow-Tech did say that to the dealer the dealer being as reputable as they are should be smart enough to say no way.

Just got off the phone with bowtech, asked the guy if the bow was safe to shoot and said it is, the limb is not a laminate it is produced with thousands of interlocking fibers held with a resin, a splinter on the edge will not affect the limb, they have tested the limbs by takin a router and cutting a quarter inch off of each side of the limb and shot it, and there was no performance or strength issues. and before you start bad mouthing, please know all of the facts. the customer was happy when he left the shop, the limbs were ordered and on their way, never said they would have to wait until jan. his buddies blew this way out of proportion, and do not know all of the facts.

Thanx for the clarification....sometimes it is best to wait until both sides are heard from.
Hicks has a great reputation and a great shop.

Well Im his buddy, I dont think I did. I was standing 2 ft from him when it cracked. we just couldnt beleive bow tech would say shoot it, its ok. They never seen the bow.John wasnt happy when he left he was scared to have it in his van.Thats why we were trying to find out if it was ok.we also have a shoot this weekend and he was going to shoot with it,because they said its ok. I had a bow pretty much blow up in my hand, the cam hit the stand when I shot.I had a coat on or it might have hurt bad. Since I hunt with him almost every day,I dont want to be the one with him when IT happens. Oh ya I was standing there when it cracked, and I was there when they super glued it,scottch taped it, and said take it and hunt with it we will order you some limbs. Just trying to make sure its not his limbs!!!

Bryon,
You, your brother and John have been great customers. If we thought the bow was dangerous and going to harm anyone in anyway we would not have let him take it from the store. Call bowtech ask them come in and see us and not talk over the internet.

From Buck John, to set the record straight, Hicks tackle is my bow shop. I recently puchased a bow tech allegiance from them. If youve never shot one, I suggest that you try one- like shooting a gun. The trouble I have with the cracked limb, is being taken care of, and has not effected my love for that bow. Seriously thinking about getting an 80 yard pin,its not your daddys bow !!! If youve never gone jump shooting whitetail bucks, you might not need an allegiance. Theres a ten point buck hanging up at hicks
from last year.
shoot straight!!!
