New shooter closing eyes

My wife is new to archery and has a tendencey to close her eyes just before her release. She is using a release. Any suggestions?!?!?

shoot more ,,,, sounds like shes anticipating the release going off. Just tell her to continue pulling threw the shot , and she will get used to it.

Is the bow slapping her forearm once in a while? I used to get bit with a bow that didn't fit me (the bow I learned on) and I anticipated that sting every time I shot. I didn't close my eyes, but my mind was on it every time I fired the bow. Just trying to figure out what she might be affraid of - causing her to close her eyes. Me - shooting a 12 gague - watch me close my eyes and jerk. :)

One of the young ladies I shoot with from time to time did the same thing after a little practice she started hitting the target where she wanted and now its never a problem for her.

Can you have her try to apply gently pressure to the release knowing when it will go off? How about having her aim and concentrate while you pull the release so she gets use to it?
