Lots of people use them and like them. Lately its been RipCord or QAD Ultra Rest in reqards to drop aways. I just switched from a trophy taker and love this new Qad Ultra rest, No Fletch contact, and yet full containment.

i put one on my bow to give it a try. Works great! but i like the QAD LD, hunter or pro a lot better.

pretty much just 2 differences.

QAD when you draw and let down, the rest doesn't go down on you. The ripcord does.
and the qad's come with mole skin/launcher covering. the ripcord doesn't

:)

If I lock the Ripcord up before I draw, then draw back and let down the rest does stay up. Maybe the cord wasn't set correctly on yours. Anyhow I love the rest. It's much more quiet than the Shakey Hunter Trophey Taker I had. That thing was loud and nothing could be done to adjust the noise out.

i was under the impression the ripcord rest would not stay up once you let your draw down. maybe if you let up really really slow, it will stay up.

The ripcord shouldn't stay up once fully drawn (that maybe key)
If you fully draw your bow, it should go down, once you let down.

If you don't come to full draw and let down. it won't go down.

Just like on the QAD's. You set it, so when you come to full draw, its just enough to activate (qad calls theres VDT position) the launch.
Except, the ripcord, once the string pulls the activator(dog) inside, there is no turning back, it should go down.

On really fast bows 300+fps. sometimes i would have to make the QAD's fall a little faster (which is done by taking apart and putting more tension on spring/launcher) Some seem to come with little more spring tension then others.
Some of you guys/gals shooting that fast, that have a little fletching contact, after its been adjusted closes to launch as possible, you need to do that.
On slower bows, like 200 fps, i needed to keep the launcher up a little longer, so it will quide the arrow straight out of bow.
Because if the launcher falls to fast and the arrow will follow a little, which in return makes your arrow start to fall right off the get go instead of 15 yds out. (or whenever they start to fall (i call it dive bomb) lol

my bad, you guys are right. it does fall back down after you let up. my mistake.
