I've just been told that I need surgery on my left shoulder. Great timing!! Ordinarally I wouldn't even consider a crutch like the Steady Ready by Knight and Hale but it seems to be my only alternative, if I want to bow hunt this season. I'm trying to hold off on the surgery until after deer season. Has anyone had any experience or has anyone tried to use one? Sure could use some input. It may be my only hope.....Jag

That's a bummer Jag.

Never seen one other than on TV but it sure seems like it'd take the pressure off the shoulder after you get it drawn.

Injury or no...I'll have a hard time not making jokes at your expense however and I apologize sincerely in advance;)

Serious note...I'd try Cabela's if your close. You may be able to test it before hand there.

after having 2 shoulder surgerys I found bowhunting to be very tough! it takes months and months to get back even half of the strength that's required to draw the bow and even more to hold it steady. It has been a couple years since my last surgery and I still find it hard to steady a bow like I used to. I knew a guy who had a heart attack which led to him being split open for surgery (all the way down his chest) who used some type of cocking mechanism (with a permit) to bowhunt. he was a terrible shot before this, and even worse with the cocking unit! I think it all comes down to holding steady and the stuff that was cut apart to enable you to do so. therapy, therapy, therapy!

No, it's in Macomb Co. Due east of Romeo and about 30 miles southwest of Port Huron.
