Count me over to the GULP side of things. Last week we went out and caught four out of six walleye on Gulp as I posted in a recent thread. Still having been using crawlers for all of these years I still had a little doubt of the overall efectiveness of these things. But No more! We went out to the middle channel yesterday morning and set up about 6:30. The three of us had four rods out, two using crawlers and the other two using Gulp. Slow start as we did not catch a fish until about 8:00 and that was on my Gulp. The next three fish were also on the Gulp and after that all the lines were running on you know what. We proceeded to limit out in about five hours and all of the fish were caught using the Gulp. I am now totally convinced and so are my fishing partners one who is a died hard crawler a holic.
Mike, do you know where we can buy some Gulp stock? Ha Ha.

Congrats there Bob T on the walleye way to go, I dont know how many times I can say it but "GULP WORKS" they accounted for a very large number of walleye that came in my boat this year;) like 99% of all the walleye I caught this summer..
Mike and I are leading the parade on Gulp and we have gotten some converts:lol: welcome to the dark side of fake bait:lol:.. Bob what color of Gulp where you useing? My favorite is pumkinseed with the green or black fleck in it.. Bob you look familiar but I cant place you at the moment..Cya Slick

Gulp was on sale at Dicks on Friday. $3.67 a pack. Lakeside was $5.99!!!
Hey Slick, I bought 7" instead of 4". Big difference in performance? If I just cut the 3" off will they work just as good?
Thanks!
BTW, nice catch Bob! I think I know what launch that is but I won't say!;)

I have done the same thing just cut them down in size, the only diffrence between the 4" and the 7" is the diamiter of the worm and I am really hook on the 4" diamiter but the 7" will work..

Slick
We did use the pumpkinseed color also. That seems to look like the most natural one available. Has anyone used any other color and what kind of results have you achieved from them? Slick, retired postal worker here. Maybe we bumped into each other somewhere.
Thanks Nascar31, and I think that i will get my credit card and head over to Dick's as we speak, ha ha.

Slick,
Minnick's is on Middle Channel Drive down past Brown's. They're just before the bridge that takes you to Bruckner Island. It's almost to the end of Middle Channel Drive. They're right on the middle channel about a mile upstream from the mouth. We go right past it when we go to my SIL's cottage. They're right down the street from Minnick's.

Isn't there also a Minnich's on the N. Channel just up the street from the boardwalk? Thought it was a brown building I could see looking into the canals?

Nice catch Bob. I will be giving the middle channel a try this weekend weather permitting. Hope the gulp works for me. What kind of sinkers are you using? I've seen a lot of people using the inline sinkers. Do they work better than the bottom bouncers?

Do you get the same quantity when you buy the 7" as oppose to the 4"?? Is it a sold by weight thing? Not that it matters much - Gulp is the only plastic that I buy anymore!!

Is Gulp plastic??
I thought that it contained all organic materials and no plastic. Have not found any info on how it is made or out of what but still looking.

Must not be plastic, its bio-degradedable.

Sorry - I should of said artificial! I kind of classify all those soft baits as plastic. I'll know better next time. :)

I bought some and it does feel like plastic through the pouch. It feels like plastic after taking one out. Cut one of the Gulp! critters in half and that did not feel like cutting a plastic crawler. Tiny bubbles in the stuff they make it out of. Did leave some out for about 8 hours and definately hardened up.
Going to take some up this weekend to see what else it will do.

If all goes right I will be finding that out for myself. Should be going through town in about 4 hours and then another 2 hours for getting some supplies, unpacking and checking the cabin and driving back to town. Hopefully I will be looking for elusive Carpazoid before 2pm.
