Well Sunday was definitely the most bizarre in a long time. We went to the Ruscom River about 1pm yesterday. As soon as we got there the wind and waves kicked up pretty good. While i was setting our second line, a pigeon landed on the swim platform, then jumped up on the transom, then to the engine cover, then he plopped his butt down within 2 feet of me and just sat there. I figured he was tired or something so I left him be. About a half hour later the wind picked up a little more, he hops down into the boat goes behind one of the seats to get out of the wind and camps out, he actually fell asleep a few times. We stuck it out for about an hour more until the waves were getting to be more than i wanted to deal with in my 19 footer. I tried getting the pigeon out of the boat, but he would just go back to his spot, so we motored up and headed back for SCS. When we crossed the shipping channel he hops up on the engine cover, when we got to about a mile or less from land he took off. It was definitely different, the only thing I could think of was that it was a pet or a park pigeon used to people. And no muskie to boot.

Did he have a band on his Leg? Some of the Old timers, Mostly Italians, use to race these birds, and maybe he just got lost.....

No, I thought the same thing, the bird would hop right up on your finger though.

We thought maybe it was a new bait sent from heaven. Couldn't convince my buddy to rubber band it to one of the baits.
