I'll tell you what, I have been at PA 2-3 times a week the past few weeks and i have YET TO EVEN SEE A KING. Two things are going to occur, A: No run or very little run this year or B: All the fish will move in at once, so there will be about 2-4 weeks of decent fishing and that is it.
This is the first time in 5 years i have not seen one hooked or caught yet. usually the first ones are around in early Aug.
Jeremy, we got pounded by rain down here. Did you guys get any kind rain? How's the water temps?

I talked to some Charter guys Sun. cleaning their catch at the PA fish cleaning station. It was all lake trout, and they told me no one was catching kings near PA,just walleye and lakers. That isnt good news, but they did tell me that fair numbers of fish have been caught at Port Sanilac and HB off and on.We might have to get our kings from there this year Jeremy,if you dont mind the drive.I tried the wall at PA this weekend too and just got some bass and seen a small catfish caught.I hope that us not catching fish in Aug means that it will be merely a late run this year and not a no show.

What's really disappointing is that northern lake huron is getting a decent run of fish from what I hear.Pier guys in Oscoda and Alpena are taking good fish already.Kinda makes me think we might be in for a drive this fall

About an inch, water temp was around 68 yesterday. NE wind for the next 4-5 days may drop it some.

I know there are some kings around, i have my sources and yes they are trustworthly:lol: , but then again there are not too many people besides the charters trying for kings and if they are focusing on fishing the bottom for lakers in 120 feet water then they may not get any silver.
I'll keep you inform in a thread or PM. I'm going to try one morning during the week to see what happens.

Hey JL, if you guys aren't hitting fish after Labor day, let me know. If you can get to Bay City, you can hitch a ride with me upto Oscoda, no charge man. My hen from the other day was very promising looking, nice and thick all the way to the tail, and you should see the skeins, for a 13lb'r, WOW!

For a minute I thought you were talking about something else:xzicon_sm
I know there have to be some fish out there. Like Jeremy says though, how do you know what is there if nobody is fishing for them? I was going to try H.B. this weekend, but something came up and now I'm going to be stuck all weekend in NW lower Michigan.........:evilsmile:fish:
