Your best bet would probally be Muskegon Lake. There are some shore access sites but would probally be best from a boat weather permitting. Heard that casting rapalas is the ticket but you can have two lines in the water so set up a dead stick with a lindy rig (floating jig head with minnow on about a 18" leader all in front of a barrel swivel and 1/4 oz slip sinker.) Hope this helps pretty basic I know but it should a least get a couple fish. Stop but Dawn to Dusk on Apple and ask where to go and what the fish are doing, the only stupid questions are the ones that you dont ask!

hoeks6321, double check you rule book. In our area the season is still open {till March 15} and reopens the last sat. in April. This for walleye and pike both. I don't have my rule book handy, but I'm pretty sure I got it right.

If one of you has a boat, I would take them to the Kalamazoo River at US 31/I 196. There is a local park there with a launch ramp. Head east away from Saugatuck and find the deep holes. I would tell you about specific holes, but I don't think that is wise or allowed on this site. Cast for pike on the edges of the fast current on the way up river to the holes. Look for break walls with rocks. Fish are there almost year around. Even if you don't catch much, the marsh is beautiful and is usually full of birds and other wildlife. Make sure the most experienced driver navigates the boat; there are some shallow spots.

I know alot of folks that fish in between blue star and the highway for eye's. But $8 to launch is to steep for me.
