Guys and gals,
Took a trip to Cabela's in Dundee Sunday, just Daddy and the boys, so Mommy could have some peace and quiet (and clean this dump!). Bought something that I've always wanted to get, but never did, a lure retriever. I've probably lost $100-$150 worth of lures in the last five years on submerged tree branches and logs and rocks. I figured it was time to get aggressive with snags!
Anybody on here own a lure retriever and what has been your experience? The Snag Master is the D-shaped one with the thick nylon cord and two treble hooks that you slide down your line to the snagged lure.
Thoughts on lure retrievers? Techniques? Cautions? Incidentally, in looking at the treble hooks on the Snag Master, I bet they're illegal in Michigan, now!! ;)

Thanks,

I had one of those and it paid for itself quickly, untill I left it wedged in some rocks on a Canadian shield lake. I now have one of the telescopic models (Frabil?) , extends to 20' or so, but it doesn't do a lot of good when it's not on the boat!!
