Far Beyond Driven

Headed to the captain's meeting for the Gold Coast.
Any members of this board fishing it?
I'll be on Twilight Zone, boat #20. If we do well, I was captaining it. If not, then I was just a crew member.

Fishing was god awful for us... had 5 fish on in the first 40 min after that... 1 hit in the next 5 hours or whatever...
ended up with one fish
broke off a monster (broke 30 line with a loose drag, Just want to forget that hog)
Some boats had some good fish others just couldnt get on them.

There were some Great catches brought in. We finished in 10th place with 187.76 points I think it was. The winner was up there with 210+ points.
We pulled lines at 9:30am we had all the fish we could catch for the tourney. DOH.....
weighed our 9 kings 97.76lbs worth of fish.

We ended up about 31st with 7 fish for 57.64 pounds. Not bad for a rookie crew in our first tournament. Missed 2 bump and runs and lost a small fish on the full core - our first hit with a couple lines down.
No pattern whatsoever. Took 3 in the first hour in 95' off Halfway Creek and pulled our last fish 300' back on a wire diver in 160' off the stacks at Port Sheldon about noon. Slow pick in between. Sounds like we should have been deeper earlier.
Good time and Ill be back.

Way to go Team Half Dozen! Can't shake at a top 10 finish, especially after a great day of fishing.
We almost squeaked out the little fish prize. .04 lbs away.
Pretty slow for us goinng out of Port Sheldon we went 7 for with our biggest at 15 lbs. Still a fun day on the water and a great time at the pig roast weigh in as usual.
