Things are pretty slow here so I thought I'd post a quick report. I fished a nice stretch between the dams yesterday afternoon. Water was up a bit from a week or two ago, still a fair amount of visibility though. Threw a variety of items while wading upstream for a couple hours and didn't get a hit. Decided to head back and give it one last try from the start point. Sun went behind trees, bugs started biting, and the smallies got hungry. Landed (and released) two good fighters in the 15-16 inch range on a brass bladed spinner with a black body. I had a couple small ones hook up but lost them when they jumped. Those smallies put up a better fight than some steel I've caught. Anyway, perfect day to be standing in the river.

The three metro parks (willow, oakwoods, and lower huron) all offer extensive access. Water is down quite a bit from the other day, saw some bass and a few carp. I stopped by flat rock to check things out and the was river was possibly the lowest I've ever seen it, water was dirty too.
