What if we set up a weekend to upgrade our portables. Would anyone be interested in helping by bringing their expertise to a local so everyone could use it. I am good at building custom rods I can bring my bench. someone bring their saw. someone bring a drill someone bring ideas IFN could you cook? It would help us get a start on the Ice fishing season, and give us a reason to enjoy the weather.

ne one know how to get your address changed to the shanty... i would like to help as well. i have quite a cool portable. if ne one is interested i could probably post a pic. a good, simple building plan for a productive day would probably be useful in knocking out or upgrading a few units.

I repaired mine using auto bumper repair epoxy avaliable from body shops. This is the stuff they use to repair the abs type of bumpers on all cars today

Got a complete workshop in the garage in Roseville, plus ample cooking equipment ie smokers, deep friers, and grills etc. Mid Oct around the 14th would work the rest of the time I will be in the woods.

Interesting. I could bring 24 or 48 good 12 oz ideas . Sounds fun. That is if I'm not up hunting.

Anyone lock a date or location? If anything we could bring our portable shanties out to get an idea who is in what. (neighbors would think we are nuts.)

I cannot make it down for this so if you guys post some pics thatwould be cool!

I was thinking of adding some LED lights to mine, maybe something in the cheap solar version that could charge during the day and provide me some low light in the evening.

Lets get this thing going. I have a frabril ultralight with a few great mods I would like to show off :coolgleam I think the parking lot of KD outdoors would be great. Have a little tailgate shanty show and tell. Also we can stock up for the season at the best shop around.

Let's see. You've got bird season, varmints, bow season, rifle season and some of us haven't put our boats away yet. I don't see this happening until some time in December, maybe January.

Ya know,, there'll be a little lull in the hunting action in mid-Dec. and probably no ice,,, that might be a good time to try and put something together,, in the parking lot.

Yeah, I'm interested. See my gallery for a couple of ideas. A front rack made from a piece of vinyl raingutter. Weighs next to nothing. PVC rod holders. Sled made from wood and conduit.

Looks like I'll be running my again this year.....Still haven't gotten around to getting a welder...

It worked out well, Brian. I had to keep chopping off 6 inches at a time until I got to the height I wanted. When it was too high it seemed a little topheavy. After shortening it was easier to get my Pro on top of it and Houghton Laker pulled it through the late ice slush on Houghton Lake last year with no problem. On clean ice or a little dusting it pulls with 2 fingers. A couple of inches of ice and the long cords come into play. Over a shoulder and across the chest and it's like taking a walk. Haven't had the chance to try deeper snow yet.

Thanks again. Bri. Guys, the sled is Salmonslammer's design. I'm not taking credit for it. Modify it to your needs.
