I am wondering if any of you have some suggestions for good smallmouth lakes. My buddy and I are planning a trip for this Sunday thru Wednesday, however we can't seem to make up out minds on where to go. We were thinking Traverse City area. Where are all your favorite places to go? Thanks

traverse bay, leelanu, and the interlochen lakes in that area.
although... you're timing could be much much better.

the muskegon river and both croton and hardy ponds also have some nice smallie waters. or head to the east side... that should be a no-brainer.
Det. River, St. Clair, erie, heck even kent lake has some nice ones!

The lakes mentioned are all good. Although I've never fished it, Cedar Hedge Lake south of TC is reputed to be an excellent smallie lake. I'd give you the name of my favorite, but then I'd have to kill myself.........

but if you want to go after smallies try Lake St Clair, They have just been hammering them out there lately. They have been munchin on the gobies like cheese sticks and are good and Fat!
