....there have been a couple of times where I've observed bass nearly right at my feet that don't seem to be afraid. Maybe they were diseased? One time was in the Kalamazoo River in Battle Creek and the other was in the St. Joe. They just sat there and would not move unless they were prodded. They had to be sick, because it was too far into the summer for them to be protecting spawning beds. ????????

To date, down here in Indiana, there has been little mention of LMB virus (to my knowledge), but with the current budget cutbacks the virus could be running rampant in this state and our DNR wouldn't know anything about it. I know you guys up in Michigan have a lot of issues with the MDNR, but this year down in Indiana they are closing boat ramps at some of the busiest lakes in the state (including two at Lake Monroe and one at Salamonie) because of a decision to cut funding to the DNR. They coupled their decision to eliminate services to Hunters and Fisherman with a decision to double license fees.
I am interested in following what happens at lake George, because I think that lake drains into one of my favorite lakes to fish, Lake James.
