I dare you in the next two weeks to take 1 neighbor trouble causing kid fishing with you. I know you each have rigs to die for and tackle to make each of us drool over now lets see you put it to good use. Go knock on the kids door and offer to take him/her on your next fishing trip. As you know the trouble maker is looking for someone to notice them, that should be YOU. The kid has probably never fished or been in a boat for that matter. A couple of good things can happen
1. It may point or show him another way to look at life.
2. If he/she is going to be trouble it will not ever be directed at you or your stuff.

Most likely tell storys about your trip!

I'm constantly giving the neighborhood kids fishings stuff. Nice pond/lake across the street in the city park to fish in. I fish with them over there now and then... I don't know their parents at all so I'm not sure how they would feel about letting "that guy up the street" take them out in a boat. So I try to do my part locally I guess.

good call weekender, I teach 7th graders and have several trouble kids who seem to only do work in my classes. The only thing I do different is talk hunting and fishing with them. One suggestion though, don't take a kid, take at least two. Most of these kids are good and only need to catch a break and get a little attention. Most teachers have learned though that some kids (very very few) really aren't good, and you don't want to put yourself in a position with a kid you don't really know where they could say or do something later that could hurt you.

again, I commend the effort, there will be a kid out there whose life is better because of you. And they won't forget it
