I think PA used this a couple of years back - there was a thread about it - anyway - glad to see you hanging around tndeer NS - your reg'ed there or just crusing through - ?
Seems there were 'issues' with doing surverys when the deer were under heavy cover - superior job in hardwoods - but in other areas there was a problem.
Any area were the 'cover' would shield the heat from the sensors -

'bout time. I had thought of that some time ago. It would work better the colder it is outside due to temperture differences.

I'm not registered there, I just peek at the site occasionally - I think they have a great forum. They have several members who post regularly, including BSK, who in my estimation have top tier expertise and perspectives.
This technology is really impressive, and I suspect that it's going to continually become even more advanced.

I think we need one of these for community use in your neck of the woods. Make it available for nightly rentals.
Why don't you set up a donation bucket at The Hotel, and I'll chip in the next time I stop by to pick up some pizzas?
How long do you think it would take us to raise $15K for a community deer camera:lol:?

After all the money going in for the new drains, sidewalks and main street, it would take a very long time!
If you come over that way be prepared for caos :dizzy:
Supposed to be done around November but there's already been snags, so I'll let you know the progress around the end of Sept. Right now going in south on Holibaugh Road (which I think you do) is okay.

The QDMA (Mid-Michigan Branch or State Chapter?) gave one of these units to our MDNR a few years back.
I do not recall the specifics, but they had the unit at their disposal for wildlife censusing, law enforcement, etc.
Wondering how they are using it?
