Hit the pier last night at Frankfort. I arrived at about 1:15 a.m. There were two others in the parking lot heading out when I got there, and about 3 more on the pier head already...Not sure what time they got there. Nobody had any fish yet, but one of the guys said he missed a hit just before we arrived.

They hit their first king at 1:35 a.m. It was a smaller silver female. I had my first fish at 1:55 a.m.. It was a very silver male about the same size as the one that I have pictured which I caught at 2:50 a.m. He seemed a lot darker than the rest of the fish we got. One other fish was caught by the other fisherman at about 3:30 for a total of 4 fish...all kings. We left at 4:30.

We were all fishing off the north side of the light house. Although many different lures were tried, the only one that caught fish was the Green Glow KO Wobbler. There was no set pattern, some hit high, some deep, some fast, some slow. The East wind picked up quite hard after about 3 a.m. and things got down right chilly, although it kept the bugs to a minimum. If you go out, be prepared to bring extra layers...and be prepared to spend some time. PATIENCE is the only way to hit these things! Oh, by the way DAD, if you are reading this...that would make the score Frankfort + 2, St. Joe + 0!

I'll try to post the one picture I have been able to upload, apparently 3 Megapixels is too big yet for the file size, and I could only get this one to load after chopping off the edges of the photo.;)

True - ZERO for St. Joe.

South pier last night 7 - 10 PM. Warm water, dead calm wind, nothing going on. You know it's not happening when I was the last guy off the piers at 10.

Just a little competition between my Dad and I. Apparently he was "persuaded" to stay home that night to "babysit the dogs". Besides, I think that any fishing after midnight must be well past his bedtime. I hope my mom gives him permission to go out at least once or twice this year.

Good luck Dad! And I really mean it!

I've done best in August after midnight, 2-5am is best. Leaving at 10pm is WAY too early, may as well of not even went. Guys fish August too much like September, they usually don't slip in until well after dark, sometimes right before, or just after, but usually much later, just my opinion.

I guess I'll have to bring a hat to put on the LARGE forehead to cover up the glare. From what I have heard the wife only gave you so much money to buy that fish. Otherwise we'd seen two pictures or maybe you holding the two fish. Sounds a little fishy to me. Thumper

So you prefer me to cover my head? :16suspectMaybe the glare from the increasing forehead is what causes my photos to be too large? At least then I don't need to waste my battery from using a flash! I'll see if I can find one of the photos with a hat instead...

Oh, and you want to see BOTH fish? The Doctor told me I can't lift anything over 10 lbs. It was bad enough holding one fish, but if my wife ever saw evidence that I was holding two fish at the same time, I don't thing she'd ever let me go back to the pier...so don't let this get out!

Again, these are the same fish...notice the date on the right side!

Yeh, that what I was saying road kills. Must have fallen out of some boat that left the launch. Either that or you had the clean up job at the cleaning station and they thought they were not fit for human consumption and left them there. :D

You're probably right, the bite might have picked up later. But the job gets in the way! I was already running on just a couple of hours of sleep. Getting off the pier at 10 gets me back at home and in bed by 11:30; and the alarm clock rings at 4. Too many days in a row of no sleep just turns me into a zombie.

Oh, I see. I didn't know that was the situation:D !

Both work and evil have four letters, coincidence...I think not.

After my fabulous night last night...Frankfort-5, St. Joe-0! :D

What's that Dad? You are on your way up here to fish with me at Frankfort tonight??? Don't let that get out to the boys down on the St. Joe's pier. They'd start calling you Benedict Thumper!

I truely hope each of you can experience the kind of night I had last night! One in a million!
