On the Rapala web page (www.rapala.com (http://www.rapala.com)), when you look at a specific lure type (Husky Jerk, X-Rap, etc.) there is a button that says "how to fish". It's a Java pop-up.

For some reason, I can't view it. I've tried everything. I've disabled my firewall and all of the pop-up software I have, and nothing. I just can't see it.

I really want to see what these links say, in case there is a little tidbit of knowledge there that I don't have. Do you think one of you kind Sirs or Madams could open the "How to Fish" button for the Husky Jerk ( and X-Rap and paste it here for me? Pleeeeaaaase????

What browser are you running? I'm using Mozilla Firefox and it works fine.

Not really that informative, but here they are:

HOW TO FISH THE HUSKY JERK

The secret to Husky Jerk success is to crank, stop, crank and take advantage of the neutrally buoyant suspending action this lure is known for.

There is one time of the year when the suspending Husky Jerk is so effective, it can literally produce a fish on every single cast.

That’s spring, when the water temperature hits about 52 degrees, and the fish move into staging areas adjacent to spawning beds.

They’re stacked up like cordwood, but normally they’re hard to catch. The move has thrown them off their feed. When you suspend the Husky Jerk in front of them, their reflexes take over. The result is the kind of action fishermen constantly seek, but rarely experience. An absolute bonanza.

HOW TO FISH THE X-RAP

When fish are extremely active, use the hard "snap" retrieve. With your rod tip down, use a short snap, snap, pause retrieve to get the X-Rap to follow a narrow track right. When fish are suspended over deep water or to trigger shallow fish use the "sweep" retrieve. With the rod tip up, use a long sweep, sweep, pause retrieve for a wider track.

GET
Firefox!!

That's not necessarily true. A while ago I switched to Firefox on my desktop computer and my laptop. It worked great for a couple of months. Then all of a sudden Firefox on my desktop computer automatically updated itself. It screwed everything up! I couldn't do anything with it and the new version sucked! I ended up dumping it on that computer and going back to IE. It's been working fine ever since. I immediately went to my laptop and shut off the automatic update feature so I'm still running the older version and it works fine. But as I said before, I hate the new version. So right not I'm running IE on my desktop and Firefox on my laptop.

John
For you maybe...LOL!!
I shut off auto-update on damn near EVERYTHING I run JP - besides.... you're prolly running that XPhome stuff...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWW...
:yikes:
Popups when you DON'T want them - and by the dozens??
No thanks (YES - my popup stopper is built in too).
IE is "fine" until somebody runs a malicious script on you - then you are the button down flap on a pair of red flannel undies....
Dr. Ben Dover , if you will.... I've also had a friend who buys online VERY frequently and he's had his C.C. number hijacked THREE times using IE - after me gettting on him back when Mozilla was in the Firefox dream state , he's switched over - and our IS dept. (@ work) has been using it as well.
I'm not saying it's perfect or the best you'll ever see - but to me , it's a lot less headaches maintaining out rigs here - and I'm the guys that builds , rebuilds and fixes the stuff here....

BestBuy or CompUSA will NEVER repair one of our PCs!!
Actually going & D/L'ding the latest Java Platform engine from Sun Microsystems (http://www.sun.com/download/index.jsp?cat=Java%20%26%20Technologies&tab=3) will probably fix his issue.
Oh - I have been known to use IE when the web-putzster , er - - web'master' has coded their site for IE only... it happens!
I've been using Netscape since my days of IE3.02 and W95.... it all started when I was having a "tech" walk me thru the install & setp of IE3.02 , then my machine bluescreened and I had to "contact my PC manufacturer" so I could re-install windows.....
Mozilla has NEVER nuked my system. EVER.
As far as your unfortunate experience with Firefox John ; I'd give you the speech about archiving your data & doing a system backup when you are using your machine for "mission critical" functions....
I can see the humor in your attitude!! I had a Western Digital HDD tank on me & I lost about 3GB of downloaded data that wasn't backed up to anotehr HDD or burned to CD or DVD.
:dizzy:
I don't buy WD drives anymore - Seagate please..... WITH a 5 yr. WTTY.
:D
I usually surf without fear - I'm still running W2K , B/C I'm not fond of XP's open sores (Uh "vulnerabilities") - but in another year , it might be patched up good 'nuff to switch...LOL!! Heck they are already on SP2B!!
If it runs on Windows - it's NOT gunna be flawless!!!

Cheers ,

Robert - you said it,..... P.O.V. !!!

I'm running XP Home, since it came out, update regularly, at MY descretion, NEVER had a problem with it ! Runs like a champ. See everything I've went to see, no problems. Lucky ?, maybe, no issues for me. Gotta love it ! System is custom built though, not "off the shelf", "Cyber-Power" from the net, good outfit, not the cheapest, but you pick it all what you want in it from the chip on up.

I also buy on-line, never been jacked. Fingers crossed now, though. Have faith in what works for you.
