Houghton Lake launches?

I have looked at a map of Houghton lake and would like to find out which launch is the biggest? most parking spaces?

anyone know what the name of the road its off? I'm going to start looking to rent a cottage on the lake and would to find one near that launch.

It is just off rte 55 or west houghton lake drive whichever you would call it. There is a small movie theater on the corner and you will turn towards the lake at the light by the theater. I'm not sure of the name of the road there unfortunately. As well you can rent some nice cottages and chalets at the American Oak resort which are in walking distance from the ramp. I've stayed there the last 3 years and can't complain. As well, the owner of the place is a pretty good mechanic and has helped me with my boat one year and my dad's boat this year for practically nothing. I'd recommend his cottages as they are fairly modern and clean comparatively speaking with a lot of the cottages I've been around in the area. Hope this helps. If you need more info, let me know.

The south shore is the biggest, but the west shore off of Old 27 is pretty nice too. Its about a 1/2 mile or so north of M-55 off of old 27. Not as much parking, but it gets you off of M-55 (which can be a cluster &^$@ in the summer). There are a few cabins to rent/resorts just north of there that aren't too bad either.

Also be careful at the East DNR launch, if you get off that little channel just a little bit your skeg will hit bottom. Stay straight when coming in and out.
