Houghton Lake Info????

I am thinking about heading up to Houghton Lake towards the end of August and just wanted some info.
1) I am looking for somewhere on the lake that rents boats and motors for fishing.
2) I will be pulling a pop-up camper, is there anywhere on the lake that is nice to camp and allows pop ups?
3) Is the Perch fishing good end of August? That is what I would prefer to catch. What else is this lake good for near the end of August?
Any help would be apppreciated.

Good boat rentals would be either L&G, Zager's Sportsmans Resort, Korbinski's or American Oaks Resort.

Perch? Cant help you there. Its not a "target" fish of those that do much fishing on HL, Higgins is a better perch lake. Late August on HL is better panfish and walleye fishing.

There's a state campground up on the north end of the lake (Area 32) . Again, look for a link thru the COC website.
