This is a little blurb to explain what's happening......:

The 2006 Fair dates are August 13 through August 19. This year, we’d like to showcase the many different fishing, hunting, and recreational boating events, clubs, organizations, etc. that are available for public enjoyment, as well as offer some educational opportunities about fishing, hunting, their habitats, and recreational boating in Calhoun County, Michigan.

With that in mind, we’ve scheduled Friday, August 18th and Saturday August 19th as “Sportsman’s Days at the Fair.” This event will be held in the Belcher Commerce Center from 3pm until 8pm on Friday and 1pm until 7pm on Saturday. During this event your personal presence with flyers, informational handouts, demonstrations, or a booth will give your group high visibility with those interested in the recreational sports of fishing, hunting, and boating. This is a unique opportunity to promote your organization and share information with those most interested in your specialty.

Other than I can't spell, wanted to make sure this made it to the top once or so more before tomorow.......please stop by, love to put faces with names!!!! After talking to the coordinator, it sounds like they would like to continue use as a tradition at the fair! If anyone is interested....I would be glad to post contact info so you guys can "express" your appreciation for supporting the outdoors!

Talked to about 35 to 50 people today while handing out the CWCMI flyers.....Overall attitude is very pro-dove hunting......I think out of that group, I had 1 woman tell me that she was against beceause they were "to beautiful to shoot"......would not slow down to talk or look over the information I was offerin! My approach was asking if they were aware of the dove hunting initiative on the November Ballot. I then would educate them on states that allow doves, the mortality rate and how hunting has not affect....whether hunted or not, and last, educated them on sportsmen $$$ that it goes to support wildlife and habitat....rather than saving 100 million to pay for lawyers and advertisement like the HSUS does!!! I gave facts rather than told them to vote one way or another......almost all were telling me..."I agree, this needs to be passed!" I encouraged them to share with neighbors, friends and family....telling them that we needed to beat this 1 vote at a time!! Overall.......I hopefully swayed 5 to 10 votes in our favor and really only dealt with 2 negative people! Tomorow is another day!
