Fished the same pier as last week, slow night. Nice choppy water, wind was NE switching to E then to W. Around midnight it layed down. Water was warm and quite stained, fishing was slow.

Hit this 7lb eye around 11pm on a FT countdown:

Then Dan hit the only king of the night on a 5-eye:

It'll be hit or miss like this for the next two weeks, then fish will become steady after Labor day. I also want to clear up the whole 34lb king deal. I've had computer problems the last week nearly, so I'm finally able to get on. I noticed the thread got closed. I put that up basically to see if there was any truth or news about it. I guess I should have just asked it as a question. I also got the names wrong, but I'm not saying anything until I see pics, so as of right now, it's just a rumor.

a rumor? more like a untrue fish story.. you really should be more certain when you post false reports like that. after reading about this 34lber, a friend trailered up his boat and went out of oscoda. he only caught one small king and a laker all day and talked to many locals who had heard nothing of a 34lber taken or anything even close. needless to say he wasnt a happy camper after spending all that gas money:rant: now i know for sure that your reports aren't to be trusted.

get a clue...he stated it was a rumor from the start, you put more faith in it, it's your problem. until you see it yourself take it with a grain of salt. it's easy to use old pics for post if you want to.

Your friend chased an internet rumor all the way up there? In his original post AS even said that he wasn't sure if it was true or not. What did your friend expect to do? Go up and catch a 34 lber himself? Even years ago when the salmon were running bigger 34 lbers were still unusual, that is why the master angler is 27lbs.

Ignore "bob" In the 20 posts he has made, 5 of them have been aimed at Jon A.S. For some reason, "bob" doesn't like jon it would seem.

Netback,
Since you've chosen not to receive any emails or PMs we'll take care of your post this way. The owner, administrators, and mods of this site won't put up with members harassing others who give fishing reports such as you've done above. Ausable explained himself very well and his reports with photos are welcome. You're comments castigating him are not.

I'll keep the posts in this thread referring to what you said viewable for a couple of days and then they will be deleted.

I'd suggest that you lay off hacking away at any member about their reports and especially if you seem to be "following" that member around the boards in order to jump on what they post.

nbn,

i have a question since we are on the subject...

why would your "buddy" trailer up to oscoda from "flathead country" solely on a rumor?

sounds to me like your just causing trouble with ausable_steelhead...

and your buddy is a dumb@$$

All I'm saying is he's quite the character. He can fish though, sometimes he can get a bit under your skin;) , but he's alright.
