Hey all,

I'm looking for more information on the black specs that are seen in panfish. Seen them in perch and bluegills. My brother calls them reed mites. He claims they're harmless, albeit unappetizing. You can see them on the outside, and if you clean the fish, they are in the flesh.

Is there any more info out there, links or such? I'm trying to get more educated about the "condition".

Thanks . .
