Ok bad news first.....

I'm afraid the ongoing saga of the charging system from hell has been put to rest. So you may now return to your regularly scheduled soaps. :D

Now the good news....

I think my motor is finally fixed!!!!

Well it only cost me $425 for parts but I replaced the entire charging system with OEM parts and it appears to be working. I ran it on the muffs in the driveway for at least twenty minutes and the voltage never rose above 14.4V. At this point I think I've finally beat this problem and it should be good to go. I've gotta work Saturday but hopefully if the weather looks good on Sunday I should be able to launch and get in a good shakedown cruise. I'm keeping my grubby little fingers crossed that this is the last major problem I have with this thing for a while and I can get in some fishing time before the water gets hard. I think I'm done with cheap aftermarket parts. I guess it's true what they say.... "You get what you pay for". ;)

CYA on the water!

John

I must still insist that you refrain from watching any fishing shows.

Promise Mike, I haven't forgotten about you. ;)

I really wanted to do it last week but it was so bloody hot that I don't think it would have worked too well. I've been thinking about your graphics for the last few days and they're ready to go. I'll get in touch and set up a time to come out and install them. I don't think it'll take too long.

Esox,

EARLY Sunday is the plan at this point. I haven't checked any weather forecasts yet but if the weather is favorable I should be out there.

Well hopefully the fish will be hungry in the morning. I plan on launching from Harley at around 5:30 a.m.

Looks like it should be a nice morning on the water!

Well the fish weren't very hungry at all this morning. I just got back and only boated one Bass. And that was after about 90 minutes of trying. I spent the rest of the six hours I was out there throwing Bucktails for Musky. Didn't get anything. Oh well, as I said earlier I was more concerned with how the boat ran. I'm happy to report that she ran beautifully! Just a little issue getting her warmed up but I think I just was in a little bit of a hurry trying to get underway after starting it up for the first time. Once warmed up she ran great and the voltage was right on where it should be. I ran from the Clinton mouth up the the North Channel and then back toward the Clinton again. When I was just about back to the river I decided to head over to the middle channel. I headed that way and spent about another 90 minutes before heading in.

At this point I've got confidence in the boat and hope to get into some fish soon.

CYA

John
