Been member for about a month to the site and really enjoy all the things I've seen so far, and this is my first post!
Just moved here from Ohio in the fall of last year. I'm an avid hunter and enjoy hunting turkey and deer. My son ( 12Yrs old) has completed his hunters saftey course, and has his International Bow hunting certificate. I am really excited to take him out this fall for both turkey and deer seasons. We both put in for the turkey draw this month and he is really exited about actually being able to go out together and actually be able to hunt as father and son. He has come with me on many hunts but never as a fellow hunter. We live in Charlotte (Eaton County) just south of lansing. We are close to Jackson county, Ingham county, Ionia county. Last year I dorve all the way out to Yankee Springs to Hunt in Barry county, but didn't see much during gun season. We both will be hunting archery and gun season this year. I am wondering if anyone knows or can direct me to some state/county/public land within about 30 miles of our home where we can enjoy some hunting together. Even any pointers on trying to find some private land would be GREATLY appreciated. Mostly in Ohio we have had alot of private family land to hunt on , and a generous amout of public land to spend time on also. Any help is greatly apreciated.
