My Buddy just called me to let me know he'd been lucky in the elk drawing! It's for a cow in the Gaylord area on the dates of August 26-30 & Sept. 15-18. He may be in need of a guide or some advice from someone knowledgeable in the taking of elk in that area at an affordable rate. I'm not sure as to how much he's looking to spend but I will pass along any and all contact info to him. Feel free to post here or pm me. Thank you.

I checked my drawing results online and a usual I was NOT drawn again,..
for the 25th consecutive YEAR !!
I put in for the points last year as I was in Idaho hunting them,.. it's so nice to know that there are still some places that you can just BUY them outright if your willing to take the trip to that out of states location.
So I NOW have accumulated 4 prefference points towards next years drawing. But then again,... I might just go back out to Idaho. ;) :D

Elk permits are like hitting the lottery in Michigan, If the person wants to be successful, they will not have a problem paying a fee for some guidence. However that is not a garuantee!! After they go threw the class and decide what avenue they choose the first step should be to make sure they have all the time off that the hunt period offers. Next go with the guide and if all else fails I would be willing to offer some of my resources. We have hunting property near Vanderbilt and I frequently see elk and know some people that have land that see's them regularly. Guides are the way to go!! But if you run into problems PM me and I'll see what I can do.
