Is this that stupid looking silly string stuff? I'm not going to judge it's effectiveness, might be great, but I can't see bringing a can of silly string to the woods! Just seems goofy! Any advantages over the gel type scents?

That silly looking stuff has advantages over al ltypes of scents and there applications,
it allows you up to 15-20 feet away from your scrapes it also allows a no mess no gel gooping, dropping stick digging. meesy hands and clothes, allows youi do place th escent in exact locations even while seated in your stand it allows you to prime the spot for an enitre week of hunting since its a reactivated with mositure and it breaks down in its physical form in 3-4 days yet stays put for another 5-6 days,
it allows to keep your scapes scnet free from human orders when making or refreshing them. but to each is own ! all i know i have tried it and its been tested for over 2 years now

Everything new could be considered a gimmic. Just dont use it if thats how you feel. Don't bust somebodies chops for talking about a product.
Do you hunt with an Atlatl?

It definetely sounds interesting. I guess I just have to mentally get passed the silly string aspect. It's definitely an application that is thinking outside the box, can't fault anyone for that!
never seen the stuff. but if i can get my hands on it i'll give it a shot. what stores carry it and how much is it a can?

LOL, Nope its in a drab green, and drab brown and it brekas down inits physical form in 3- 4 days, once absorbed it reactivates with mositure.
good thing is you only need 4-6 inches sprayed for it to be effective and at 300 feet it s a lot of applications

Is this the "Scent Web" you are referring to? (Scroll down once you click the link) http://www.awayhunting.com/awaycatalog/acatalog/index.html
Looks awfully white to me, but the concept decent.. I thinnk anything can be construed as a gimmick when it comes out, but one can only try it out and draw the conclusions out for themsleves.. Right?

The white was only for the add so it can be seen.
the actual colors were to drab to stand out for the photo shoot

Amen to that! It's great to hear reviews about different products.
Plus I believe Greg & Fred Abbas are the owners of A-Way products and they are two of the most accomplished deer and turkey hunters in MI and have developed a number of very good products over the years including the hands free grunt tube. That doesn't mean they couldn't come up with a bad idea, but it probably isn't likely they would take it to market.

That BowGrunter cost me a deer last year. Just as I let the arrow go, the tube caught my bowstring and snapped the plastic piece. NOW, I run the tube OVER my shoulder.

I plan on trying it this season, I've used Away products over the past 7 years for chasing Gobblers and getting bucks to within bow range. They're products have not dissappointed me yet, plus I feel they're a company has some respectablity. Plus I'm tired of trying to lay some scent down at 5am and spilling it on my gloves. If it works great, if it does'nt then I won't use it again. I've never had much luck with scents anyway. Maybe this year.

I just got a can of the SHE-HEAT Doe Estrus at Meijer. It scanned $12.99, but it was marked $9.99 so that's what I got it for!
Any tips for using it? When would you start using it and where would you spray it?

I just bought a can of Apple, Vanilla and She Heat today at Goldstar Hunting in Edmore. They are having a pretty good Buck Fever V days, I attended the Abbas's seminar and spoke with Greg and Fred about the new scent web. They demostrated how to use it and man the Vanilla and Apple have awesome smells. Anyway they suggested using the She Heat during the pre-rut and rut, you can spray it on the limbs above an active scrap and it will last around 3 to 5 days (depends on weather). Or you can use it as scent around your stand like you would use other scents. They stressed spraying on limbs versus straight on the ground, they said it will last longer.
Greg really emphasized not to over apply the scents. A quick shot of the scent web is all you need. He just got back from Canada Bear Hunting and he said the bears were eating the Vanilla web off the limbs. I'm going to try the vanilla scent in 3 weeks for bear hunting.
Good luck.
