i am looking for a used vhf radio for the boat i use. the boat has a radio but it doesnt work. i took it apart to look for a loose wire or such and found the insides full of rust. this is a boat i can use but belongs to my boss. others use it for vacations etc. but dont need the radio. i'm planning on taking the radio out when i'm not using it so the same thing doesnt happen again. i admitt i use the boat the most but am the only one who cleans and repairs it when nec. its the cheapest boat payment to be had, i dont want to put a lot of money in to it but i like the safety of a radio that transmits. looking in the g.r. area, dealer trade ins, private party, etc.

Good Luck, I don't think there are any..I looked for a long time, and finally bought a new one. on E-Bay they want as much or more than new.

Look for a radio swap meet, usually held @ high schools and such during the summer. Picked up one earlier this season for 30 bucks..

You can get a new VHF for $100 or less. If you're going out on the big pond, Dont risk the reliability of your distress call by fixing a wire or buying used.

$105

It has DSC, and its the black box model so you can mount the radio out of the way(great for small boats), and can take the mic/control unit out with you.

I have used Dave several times with great prices and results. Theres a ton of radios right around $100. Make sure you have a good 8' antenna as well. You antenna is a big part of the VHF picture.
