Need opinions on '94 Merc 150 Black Max

Anyone have any opinions (good, bad, indifferent) on a '94 Merc 150 (2.0l) Black Max outboard?

A boat I'm thinking about looking at has one on it. I know and understand the general stuff ... check compression etc. Just looking for info on reliability and or 'quirks' specific to this motor. I've never owned a Merc and never had a V6 ... so need all the help I can get.

I know a couple guys with this motor. They seem to run well... and are fast for their hp rating.

The Yamaha is running fine now also.

Those motors have definitely proven themselves out as strong and dependable.I would think if you like the rig,give her a good once over,compression,lower unit,charging system etc..and go for it.
