Has any body ever replaced the shaft on their trolling motor, I just bought an older bass boat, but the trolling motor is almost brand new, however the trolling motor wasnt as quiet as a minnkota should be, so I checked it when it was out of the water and the prop wobbeld:rant: , not real bad but enough to scare some fish away thats for sure:yikes:
Its a 70lb thrust minnkota weedless model? Is the unit trashed or can it be fixed?? Im kinda of a mechanical person could I do it myself?? any advice??

The shaft is the end of the armature. That is one seriously expensive part. On the other hand I can't see how it could have gotten bent. I have abused the heck out of my Minns, crashing down on rocks in heavy seas etc. and never managed to bend the armature shaft. I did bend a shear pin once. Did you check the run out on the armature shaft with the prop off? If not, I bet it's a prop and shear pin job.

Yeah i pulled the prop off and turned the motor on speed 1 and you could see the wobbel in the shaft......I had a 35lb thrust on my father in laws that I beat the crap out of and never bent. This unit is fairly brand new it was on the bass boat I just bought, so how he bent it I dont know either,
