Man I got to shoot one today and WOW are they smooth. They might not have the speed, but it was one of the quietest, smoothest bows I have ever fired!!

Give it a try, my Hoyt is up for sale!!! MAYBE!!!!!!!!!!!

They are nice! The fit and finish is second to none. They are a thing of beauty. Just wish they were a touch faster.

They need to be about 10 fps faster.

The Ross bows look really nice and i've heard nothing but positives about their line and the company in general. I'd love to test drive one myself but the closest dealer is almost 200 miles away and thats just a little to far for me. If we get a dealer closer i'll definately give one a go.

Is this the same Ross company that makes flyreels?

Where did you shoot it at Dave?

On a side note...I'm going to have a new sight and rest put on my bow this year (in about a week actually), as well as re-strung. Anyone in the area you recommend...I've only had work done at Michiana Archery in the past (no complaints, but no praise either).

Actually one of my clients is Borkholder Archery and one of my salesman bought a brand new one through them. It is nice!!

I would have Ron Hale up in Dowagiac work on your bow. They are good and know their stuff. Shoot me a PM if you have any other questions.

What is the longest axel to axel they make for us fingers shooters?
If I ever care about speed I can get all I need by lightening up my arrows )2216) and broadhead (TH-125) combination. For fingers shooters anyway, we want to stay below 250 fps.

Ross makes a fine bow geared towards the hunting crowd ,and that's what I like about them . The average bow shot is 22 yards ,so a few fps sacrificed for a more quiet hunting bow is an advantage .

live2fishdjs, they are not the same company that makes ross fly reels. They are similar quality though ;).

Joe Archer, the longest bow they currently make is 37". But it will be interesting what they do for their 07 lineup.
I'm sure they will pick up some fps in 07, as this seems to be the only negative thing a few people can find about the bows. They are plenty fast for me, only hair slower than the switchback from what i have heard (2-5fps).

I bought a 334 about 2 months ago after shooting hoyt for 7yrs. and am very happy with it. I look forward to shooting it every chance i get. The bow is very comparible to the mathews, except it is around $100 less and it comes with winner's choice strings whereas mathews factory strings are junk. It also comes equipt with sims limb savers and string leeches straight from the factory. Another plus in my opinion is the slimline grip, opposed to the big wood grip on mathews. There are a ton of great bows out there, shoot a bunch and go with what works for you. Do yourself a favor though, give ross a couple shots.

Heres a couple pics of mine.

I looked at them Yesterday but did not have time to shoot one. $619 at Jays and I have to say, thats a hell of a bow for that price! It's looks great, feels great and draws nicely....I'm sure I would like the way it shooots. Ross will be around for a while, no doubt. I too wish the speed was a bit better....I know, it's not everything, but it is certainly something. I also looked at the Trykons and am a bit dissapointed. I love my Ultra Tec, but a Trykon will not be in my future. The finish was poor an every one I looked at, and I don't like the way it draws. Right now, I can't keep my hands off the Bowtech Tribute and Allegiance and just may own one of these in the next few months.

I tell you, I was also impressed with the new AR with the super short limbs. Felt great in my hands but the 6.5" brace height is not for me. I'm looking forward to shooting one though, even though it's little brother the PSE Mach X is getting poor reviews.

live2fishdjs,

thanks, i paid $650 for it. This is definitly the top end of the going price but i had no problem paying it. The shop i bought from has nice service that goes along with the bow. It seems the average is around $620 for the 334 and less for the 331 and more for the 337.

good luck,
Steve
