Any one use this?

I was thinking about getting one this year to help boost my hearing ability.

I have a pair of ESP brand that are custom molded for your ear. They run about $800 for the pair and are worth every penny. My main reason for getting them was so I could hear birds that I couldn't with traditional ear plugs. If you can sepend the money, I would get a pair of those instead of the Walker's.

Beware that not only will they magnify the sound of the birds and animals, but also anything within a couple miles, such as barking dogs, traffic, airplanes, neighborhood kids, etc., etc. So, if you hunt in an extremely remote area, they could be great, but for mos hunting situations, they are more of a pain than they are worth unless you enjoy hearing these other things, then they would be great for you.

Have a Walkers and use it for ALL my hunting. It will magnify ALL sounds even the sonuds that can cover the sound you're trying to hear. Goose hunt in standing corn on a windy day!!! It gets load!!! But you can adjust the volume for days like that. I put it in my "bad" ear and it helps a lot.

I tried it this past year for the first time and like posted above it lets you hear everything. After about two hours on stand i took it out because i got tired of hearing tire noise from a distant highway. A half hour later a 8pt. buck appeared coming right at me. I never heard him coming and he never heard it coming either. I guess being deaf for so long all the extra sounds were too much to handle on opening day. Since then i have wore it while fishing and just setting around camp and it has become much more enjoyable.

NE MIsportsman-I agree to the point that I asked walkers to come to one of our shoots and demo the product. You would think I was smoking something with the stillness on the other end. I believe cos could sell more product if we the consumer didnt have to buy the 'pig in a poke' everytime.

Call them and ask, perhaps more callers will open some eyes.

Incidentially I also did that with Hawkeye Bore Scopes. We wanted a rep to demo them at our 22 BR shoots at Sault Ste Marie. The answer was NO-cost way too much to send someone from detroit. BUT the gentleman did offer to loan us one for a week and see how we liked it. I would have had to put up my plastic numbers and when they got it back I suppose I would have been credited. I never did but still may some day.

The least they can do is demo at the sport shops-maybe they do at cabelas as they have something there much of the time.
