The Fred Bear Instinct, at around $400, looks like a lot of bow for the money. Anyone shot one yet? Opinions?
I have not shot one, but the new Fred Bear Instinct and Code bows (similar bows of different lengths) are getting some good reviews from what I've read at archerytalk.com.
Here's a blinded, although not totally scientific, comparison. Click on this link, then click on red arrow in upper right corner:

Bowhunter Magazine had it ranked right up there with the high dollar bows this past month in a review. I think length and color were the only faults.

I think the 2006 Fred Bear line up ,along with the sister Jennings models are the best value in bows right now . They have a lot of good features and the looks of the high (hype) end brands .

Really Really nice to see some awesome bows at a better price points.
I predict this will be the trend even more so in the next 2 years or so.
Fred Bear stuff is nice, Martin has a couple of unbelievable bows aound the same price...Diamonds from Bowtech.
Reflex will have to get better but I bet they will.
Bout time we see some solid lineups without the $6-700 price tag.
That instinct is a great bow btw.

My son went to the archery shop last week wanting to try the Instinct and came out with Fred Bear's Element. I liked the Instinct's weighted cam idea and the looks were better than the pictures in catalogs. The Element was $100 cheaper and he liked it just as well. Very easy to shoot well. I think it is slightly louder than my Outback and has more hand shock. It also was less than half the price of my Outback. After watching him shoot it, I would recommend Fred Bear's new lineup.
