I'm still "green" to this site, and to the Howard City area. I've got a Hoyt bow that I would like to have a wisker biscuit installed on. Can someone tell me a good place to do business with?
Thanks,
-Beagle- ;)

It is a little ways from Howard City, but well worth it in my opinion. Give Twin Ponds Sport Shop in Stanton a try...right on M-66 south of town. Great service and pretty decent prices, too. There are closer shops, but none come close in terms of freindliness and quality service, IMO....

If you want to go to Grand Rapids, KENT ARMS is a good pro shop. Vince is really personable. The archery department there is starting to grow and they have added some more "archery" guys to the line up so there is always someone in the know about archery during business hours.

I take my bows to Vince to work on and he has not let me a stray. :D

GoldStar Outdoors in Edmore is GREAT! They are about six miles east of Lakeview on the north side of M-46. Just look for all of the trailers out front, they also have a trailer sales business.

Heck, I drive there from Caledonia (South of Grand Rapids) because they do such a nice job.

Should not be too far from you. Good Luck...

Yes, GoldStar is closer....opinions sure vary on that place. I live less than 2 miles from them, and wouldn't go there for any reason short of an emergency. I won't bad-mouth them any further...their Archery Tech guy is top notch, some of the others, well........

I just took the drive down to Hill Top in Greenville last night. I don't know much about the whole operation, but the archery tech (Tood I believe) is top notch. He got a group of us tuned up last night and a couple of the guys say there bow hasn't shot that good yet. Very knowledgable.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. This is just like "letting my fingers doing the walking", but they're walking in a great website, not the yellow pages.

Ghosthunter, I forgot all about that sporting goods store there in town. I love that place. I bought my fishing license there and have been back only once. Great looking store, and I was treated right. I'm glad you mentioned it, I like supporting the local businesses when I can.
