Elk Season 2006 update

The Elk Season for 2006 ,I spoke to the DNR in Gaylord this morning and there will be 170 tags for this year . The early hunt will have 55 and the late hunt will have 115. Don't forget to check the web site tomorrow the 27th to see if you drew,if you dont have a computer you will be notified by mail on or around the 8th of August any way. you will need to bring that letter and the envelope they send you with all your information in it to the orientation. You will also need to purchase your proof of eligibility at any kiosk , Your license is given to you at the orientation. Good luck to all!

What do you mean by proof of eligibility?? Never heard of it?!

Carpmaster: What i meant is you have to go to a licenseing kiosk and pay $100 they give you what looks like a license but is only a proof you payed your money and are elgible to hunt because you drew a tag . to the best of my knowledge only those who were drew can do that. they will give you your license at the end of orientation and if you miss it you can't hunt. they were going to put a two week period that you have to purchase the permit but i am not sure if they have done that yet or not..Any way good luck to all
