I just saw the "new rage" expandable broadhead. Seems like a knockoff of the Rocky Mountain Snyper...looks to me like the same mechanism of camming back open the blades. (What happened...Rocky Mountain's patent expired?)

Anyway, anyone try them out yet? (The rage). They are 2 inches in diameter (for the 2 blade) while the Snyper is 1 3/8 inches. I've used the snyper in the past and have been very pleased with it, but the extra 5/8 cutting diameter of the rage head interests me.....thoughts or anyone try them yet?

Both heads are made under the same parent company (Field Logic). I will be sticking with the Snyper 2-blade 100s. I don't like the steep blade angle of the Rage heads, and neither 3-blade head is very good, IMO. I believe they were developed only in response to marketing pressures, not as any kind of performance improvement.

Snyper 2-blades are very sharp out of the box, fly perfectly, create incredible entrance wounds, penetrate deeply and kill deer impressively. The blades are relatively easy to resharpen and very easy to replace. Why change?

Byron :)
