I want to start bow hunting this year but i have a problem, I am right handed and left eye dominant. I have shot right handed bows with a patch over the left eye pretty good but its a hassle. I want to shoot left handed to solve this but have no idea what my draw length or weight that would be most comfortable for me. Are there any archery ranges around St. Clair Shores where i could try a few different setups to get the feel. Thanks

My wife is left eye dominant, right handed and shoots right handed.
I am right eye dominant (can't see out of the left eye!), left handed and shoot right handed.

I know of only one person who has successfully switched from shooting right handed to shooting left handed. Could be a difficult switch.

The red dot sight dosent work. I can not close my left (dominant) eye while keeping the right eye open during right hand bow shooting. Therefore, I cant see the dot and when i do its off by miles. Same with pins.

my brother in law has the same issue and the red dot scope did not work for him either he finally switched back to a pin sight after two years

Try a No Peep, and keep both eyes open. Been shooting one for years, and will NEVER go back to a peep.

I made the switch when i was 16 and my dad started bowhunting in 1955 and made the switch to left handed we both shoot recurve, longbow and compounds ALL left handed. and experience good success. so now you know 3.

I'm a left eye dominant right handed shooter. I close my left eye when aiming and open it up before release and it's worked well for me for years. I shoot peepless as well which I believe helps for the lefty/righty shooter.

I am right handed left eye dominant and shoot with both eyes open without any problem. I started out just shutting my left eye but this year I have been leaving them both open.
