Thinking about trying for some sheephead but thought maybe the water is too warm. Wondering if anyone has seen any caught the last couple of days. Hate to waste my time and fuel if there aren't any around the piers. Thanks for any info!

I was out at Grand haven last week and it was slow sheeping. I did catch a nice bass and cat on 'wives though...

Took several right in front of the Holland piers this weekend. Boat next to us was really beating up on them fishing large hot and tots. Of course I left the plug box at home and only had spoons....

I caught almost a master angler sheepshead from the st clair river in Port Huron on sunday weighed 15lbs and was caught a ludington water melon silver streak jr.You can catch them on lures during the day even when nothing else is biting about all summer long.I call them pratice salmon:lol:

I just want something my son and I can catch relatively easily and with some decent numbers. He's a real fisherman and will stick to it even when we're not catching much, but I love to get the kid on fish! That's why I've turned into a SHEEP FAN!! When I was a kid, I'd catch carp by the dozens in a stream by my grandparents house, but now I hate touching those things!! The sheep are the ticket as far as I'm concerned.

Those things were in peak running form about a month agon on my hometown stream. They are winding down now.I have caught every size of them this year from 8 inch young ones to a whopping 15lber.My personal best was about 4 years ago when I caught a 21lber,42.5 inch monster!I went as far this to cut a few lucky stones out of their heads.:yikes:
... there NOT sheepshead... their "Sweetwater Permit"!! :yikes:

Now, my only question...
Do we eat sheeps head, and how do we cook 'em up?
OK that is two questions.
