Heading up to Frankfurt the 22nd-29th for a Family reunion & I have a couple of nieces & nephews who have never cought anything larger than a panfish.
It has been a while since I have fished there and it would be greatly appreaciated getting some information on headings &/or GPS quads for targeted zones.

Thanks!
Rico

The only info I can give you is run all spoons, make it simple, and run everything half way down. If you are in 100 FOW, fish the 60 and 50 feet zone. Drive straight out until you hit the shelf and troll parallel with it. It should go from 75-100 very fast once you are out about..hmmm..4 miles or so. Maybe a little farther. Blues have been good.

PM me for more info

This hot spell has sent the fish deep, but that could change by the time you get up here. Fish have been caught both north, off the shelf, straight out, and also down in the Herring Hole to the south.

Get out there well before daylight. The fish have been coming very early in the morning.

Just stop in the Tackle Box across the street from the launch, they will give all the info you will need.

The Tackle Box.........Good Idea!! Go in and say "Hi" to Murph and tell him that you're a Michigan-Sportsman.com guy.

Rico,

We are having a tournament on Sat you can call us on 72 ask for Thors Hammer. That is the channel that the Detroit Steelheaders monitor. Feel frree to come by the weigh in. It will be by the docs on the grassy area.

I would not run all spoons. I believe that last year, this same time of the year a green fly with a white spin doctor was KING. At least with our club.

If you want to fish with us It is easy and fun. Go to www.detroitsteelheaders.org (http://www.detroitsteelheaders.org) to learn more.

Mr. Thor and others,
Be sure to check out the MS Labor Day weekend tourney out of Manistee. Details are to be found in the Outings Forum.

I was out last Friday morning. Caught a 13# King 225' back on a green fly /white hootchie behind a diver set at #1 (maybe 70' down). Then got an 18.5# King down 45 ft on a blue spoon on a rigger. Both of these were before 6:30 am. Then nothing until pulling lines at 10 am due to a rapidly approaching thunderstorm. We lost a big fish on another diver back 200' that hit just as the lightening started. Most guys cleaning fish had hits as the storm approached...fishing is great but life expectancy is a bit iffy! We were fishing a bit outside the bank ~130-160 ft of water. "Temperature" (48F?) was said to be 35-45 ft down. My Canon Speed-n-Temp was DOA so I was going by hearsay.
