When I was a teenager I was big into bow hunting. That avatar of mine that I alway used is a 25 year old picture of me and Fred Bear. Years ago due to a lack of time, hunting land, job, kids etc., I quit bow hunting. Well its time to get back in. Where is a good bow shop to get started at that has knowledgeable staff, good selection, place to test shoot etc. I'm leaning toward Cabela's with my CLUB cash, good idea? Or is there a better place? I live in the Flint area.

If you do not want to go all the way to Dundee I have a bow that I might want to get rid of that no one in my household can use but me, and I have 3 so now that my wife, daughter and son are getting into hunting I have to get them some stuff they can use.

I know the bow is a Martin with everything on it (no overdraw) with arrows and hard case, I'm looking to sell or trade. If you are interested let me know.

I would avoid Cablea's for a bow like the plauge. Most of there bow reps. really don't know what there are doing our selling for the matter, and if you do go down there you are going to what hours to get a bow set up. Then it may not even be set up properly. I would go to a pro-shop there are plenty to choose between Linden and Dundee. So do yourself a favor and go see pro-shop thats what they are there for.

If you want to see and shoot A LOT OF BOWS try Jays in Clare. In Flint try Hicks, or the new Spot Shooter shop that opened in Holly. If Jim at Spot sets you up you can't go wrong.

Welcome back to bowhunting! Also, congratulations on that picture with Mr. Bear. That's a winner.

I vote for you contacting Ninja. Everything I've heard about the guy has been good. He also will be able to set your bow up so it will shoot right FOR YOU. Lots of places can set a bow up, but the key is to get that bow shooting right for you. Give him a call or just go down there and see what he has.

Thanks for the help. I guess I'll avoid Cabelas. Hey Backwoods, thanks for the advise, if I can't trust someone from my former home town of Chesaning who can ya trust.
