Wade for Smallies

We're back to Michigan after many years absence. Thanks to all for the great info you provide.
Can any of you point me to streams, rivers or lake edges I can wade for small mouths? Places that are an easy drive from Grand Blanc would be best. So far I've discovered the Shiawassee near Owosso which is good but need some variety.

Try the Flint River - chocked full of Smallies. Great access in the Montrose area. Good Luck - Bob

Not sure what you mean by close. Over here the Kalamazoo river has lots of smallies. Lots of bridges from Homer to Battle Creek. Love to catch those river samllies on a streamer and flyrod!
